Grid behavior

Schedule view

Read the timeline, switch modes, zoom the grid, and understand Flat mode.

What view modes are available?

DayShows individual day headers with larger day columns.
WeekShows a compressed week-scale timeline with smaller day columns.
ListA separate table view in the sidebar, not a grid scale. It lists tasks with department, resource, start, end, duration, status, and priority.

How does Group mode work?

Group mode displays department headers and team rows. Tasks appear on their assigned row. Events can span multiple rows by dragging the bottom edge in this mode.

How does Flat mode work?

  • Flat mode shows one row per task rather than one row per team.
  • Flat rows are ordered by start date, then department order, then team order, then task title and id.
  • Multi-row events appear once, even if the same event spans several rows in grouped view.
  • Events cannot be resized downward in flat mode and cannot be duplicated from flat mode.
  • Horizontal date movement and left or right date resizing still work.

How do weekends and holidays appear?

Weekends can be shown or hidden from View settings. Selected national holidays appear as tinted columns on the grid with country-aware colors and holiday flags in the header.

What does the today line do?

If today falls inside the visible range, Skedy draws a vertical line at the current day and highlights the matching day header.

How does zoom work?

Zoom changes the width of each day column. Use zoom out for long schedules and zoom in when you need more precise day-level reading. The toolbar shows the current zoom percentage.
