Freeze a project's shape and start new ones from it.

Saving a template

With a project open, click the copy icon beside it in the sidebar and give the template a name. Skedy stores a snapshot of that project's structure, not a link to it, so editing the project afterwards leaves the template untouched.

What a template carries

Departments and rowsNames, colors and order, exactly as they were.
Tasks and milestonesTitles, notes, checklists, priority and type.
DatesKept as day offsets from the earliest task, plus each item's length.
Milestone groupsRows a milestone covered stay grouped together.

What a template leaves out

  • Resources and row crew: people belong to your workspace, not to a template.
  • Task status and checklist ticks: a new project starts fresh, not half-done.
  • Activity history and share links.

Starting a project from a template

In the New project dialog, pick a template under Start from and choose the date the schedule should begin. The saved offsets replay from that date, so a six-week shoot keeps its shape wherever you drop it. Dates are replayed literally, with no weekday snapping.

Templates are private to you. They are never included in a share link.
