Create and edit work

Tasks

Create tasks, move them through time, select them, copy them, and edit their details.

How do I create a task?

  • Click a grid cell to create a task on that row and date.
  • Drag across grid cells to create a task with a longer date range.
  • Click New task in the toolbar to create a task on the last-used row, or on the first project row if there is no last-used row.
  • Use the empty state button when a project has no tasks yet.

How do task dates work?

Tasks store a start date and an exclusive end date. The UI displays the end date inclusively, so a one-day task starts and ends on the same visible calendar date.

How do I move or resize a task?

  • Drag the task bar left or right to move it across dates.
  • Drag the left edge to change the start date while keeping the end anchored.
  • Drag the right edge to change the end date while keeping the start anchored.
  • Task movement and resizing snap to whole days.
  • Regular tasks are clamped to the configured maximum task duration.

How do I select tasks?

  • Click a task once to select it.
  • Double-click a task to open the task drawer.
  • Press Enter to open the selected task.
  • Use Shift-click, Ctrl-click, or Cmd-click to build a multi-selection.
  • Use arrow keys to move selection between nearby tasks.

How do copy, paste, duplicate, and repeat work?

CopySelect a task and press Ctrl+C or Cmd+C.
PastePress Ctrl+V or Cmd+V to create a copy in the next available slot.
DuplicatePress D to duplicate the selected task into a free slot without replacing your clipboard.
RepeatOpen the task drawer and use the duplicate button to create weekly or back-to-back copies.

How do I delete tasks?

Select one task and press Delete or Backspace. If multiple tasks are selected, Delete or Backspace removes the whole selected set. You can also delete the open task from the task drawer.
